What has been achieved?

Since the establishment of the Van Doorn Foundation in 2001, approximately 370 young people have received a scholarship!

In Asia (Indonesia – Sri Lanka – Nepal) scholarships were provided to 100 young people giving them thereby the opportunity to pursue secondary school, vocational or professional education or university training. These include some 60 orphans in Papua (Indonesia) who have been able to follow education at various schools and some 10 young people from a home for differently abled children in Colombo (Sri Lanka) who have been given access to special education.

In Africa (Kenya – Tanzania – Uganda – Rwanda – Gambia – Senegal – Ghana), 250 young people received a scholarship. The majority were orphans and/or young people from poor families from the slum areas in Kenya and Uganda.
